Greywater Harvesting.......what's it all about then?
Grey water harvesting is the collection of water that is available as a result of:
Shower run off
Sink waste
Bath run off
Grey water from kitchen use is not advised to be used as it often contains
elements of food waste and chemicals.
The first rule when opting to harvest grey water should be to stop all use
of harmful chemicals. Bleach will ruin the effectiveness of a greywater
filter, disinfectants may destroy organic life if you are intending using
grey water for garden irrigation. If filtered correctly, grey water can
be used for a multitude of uses including:
Garden irrigation
Toilet flushing
Washing machines
Car washing
Exterior washing.
